When beach season finally arrives each year, the eternal optimist in me imagines that this is going to be the summer:  the one where I resolve to run boot-camp-style drills up the hill near my house, the one where I can finally say no to chocolate, the one where Cameron Diaz will see my kick-ass, toned body and be so envious that she can't even act her way out of looking jealous.  The heat of summer brings to light the realization that we will have to eventually ditch the cover-up and show ourselves to the world (or at the very least, our friends) and though most of us love the lazy, hazy endless-possibility days that lie ahead, we can't help but be a little bit stressed about it when we reach into our closets each morning.  With our second baby arriving in a few weeks, I have a new summer resolution to embrace that I'm hoping will take some of my body-consciousness to a land far, far away.  This summer, I am going to have fun with fashion.  I will dare to wear brights like I've never done before, I will don fun, happy prints instead of always sticking within the safety of solids, and yes, I will dress like a surf-girl rockstar like the models at Proenza Schouler even though I've never caught a single wave.  The pressure's officially off - now go have some fun with fashion!  Oh, and if you see Cam, tell her that I'll see her on the beach next summer.   Real Life Runway Tip:  The surfer-chic looks seen at Proenza Schouler incorporated tonnes of neon-brights, tie-dye and tribal prints.  Pick a fun, printed skirt (this one from Forever 21 comes pre-belted) and pull out the brights with your accessories.  Laid-back, sporty and far from serious...the perfect M.O for summer.

Happy Friday to you all, and don't forget the sunscreen!
