In the hot, hot heat, I'm always on the hunt for ways to keep cool. And while I won't deny the power of a perfect little dress to wile away a heatwave, I feel like right now is the perfect time to revisit an often-underappreciated basic: the short. Sure, simple shorts & a tee are fine when you're just chilling on your back deck. But there's a plethora of potential locked up in your shorties just waiting to get out. Like a backup singer who finally gets her chance to headline, think of your shorts as an untapped talent in need of a really good manager.
This summer, make your white cut-offs street style stars by pairing them up with perfect partners. Try an all-white base, then throw a long flowy vest over top. Or pair your white shorts with an on-point top (try a black lace-up bodysuit, tank or tee depending on your comfort level), on-fleek feet (block heels or ghillie ties - yes, please) plus a black bandana and statement shades to help cement your cool girl status.
Not so down with high hemlines? You can still rock shorts by going with the flow. A pair of flowy shorts teamed with a crisp white off-the-shoulder top look effortlessly chic on a steamy summer day.
Speaking of short, time to get back to our way-too-short summer. Hope these next weeks feel extra loooong. Scroll down for summer short outfit inspo - enjoy!

I can't blame you if you haven't been bare-shouldered in awhile. Spring in Canada is a roller-coaster ride of temps and emotions - warm one day, freezing the next, grateful one day, totally grumpy the next. The main source of my frustrations with spring this year has rested in the fact that I have two new off-the-shoulder pieces I've been dying to bust out. Problem is, the weather has forced me to cover up exactly what I want to show off. My shoulders are dying for the sun, the warm breeze and the cute Instagram pic potential.
Go get yourself a stellar strapless bra (if you need it) and then check out these 3 gorgeous off-the-shoulder looks to help you make the most of the (hopefully super warm & sunny) long weekend ahead...

Moms like me don't ask for a lot. Thank-yous, pleases and R-E-S-P-E-C-T are all we moms really need. But I don't know a single mom who wouldn't love a little something'-somethin' from Sephora to really drive home that thank you. I'm not familiar with any fellow parentals who wouldn't love a new handbag (PLEEEASE??). And, of course, nothing shows true appreciation like a pair of gold Dr Dre headphones. Um, do they come in the noise-cancelling variety? Respect.
Since my kids don't have any credit and I certainly don't want my husband to destroy our family budget on my behalf, I'm guessing that many of you moms are in the same boat. I've rounded up 40 gorgeous gifts - some expensive, most not - that are on my radar this year. The presents on this shortlist are sure to please any mother-in-law. These picks are designed to delight any doting grandma. This guide will help, well, guide any lost husbands out there. And if you end up with a card, some flowers, or even nothing at all, feel free to use this list to belatedly treat yoself. After all, being a mom is a 24/7, 365 kind of gig. You just never know when you might need a little pick-you-up after a particularly tantrum-filled/juice-spilled/couch-ruined/tear-out-your-hair kind of day. This is when those gold headphones really come in handy...

Call them floods, call them shpants, call them what you want - cropped pants are back in a big way for spring. Designers showed off loads of cute crops on the spring runways, exposing long-hidden ankles and putting spring shoes on full display. But forget about your old capris (note to selves: never call them capris), the new crop of crops are wider, more flared and way cooler than their predecessors. Whether you're a fashion risk-taker or like to take things slow, there's a pair of crops that's just right for you. For the beginner, try out a pair of cropped kick chinos or jeans - relaxed, slightly flared, and super easy to wear with cute kicks or strappy spring sandals. Ready to go next level? Super wide crops are right on point for spring - opt for loose, flowy crops for work, or keep it structured with black faux-leather culottes for street style domination. The cropped-pant bonus? You'll be totally ready for those April puddles ;)
Check out these 3 looks and get ready to raise your pant game, like, literally...
