If you read my post the other week, you'll know that I'm part of an undercover team of fashion sleuths for Oshawa Centre. It's not really so undercover, but we are bad-ass and ruthless (when it comes to shopping, anyway), and dedicated to tracking down the best finds. It's a dangerous job (as my Visa card has recently discovered) but I'm glad to do it.

On my second visit, I found loads of things I wanted to bring home, from perfect fall boots to the cutest things for my house. I'll admit it - I lucked out, big time. I happened to be at a Muskoka wedding over the weekend and en route home, what should we pass but the Orillia Target. I'm not going to pretend that this was purely accidental. I mean, I've been dying to get my hands on the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection since it was announced months ago and so yes, the Orillia Target was already programmed into my GPS. And I'm not going to pretend that I didn't know that I had way better odds of scoring anything Lim in Orillia than in Toronto. And so, as I gleefully heaped clothes and bags into my cart (whee!!!), my husband settled into a bench while other shoppers looked on bemusedly (Lim? Who's Lim?), I just knew that I HAD to share my luck. I picked up 1 mini satchel for me AND 1 for you, my dear RLR friends!

Your Fall '13 Denim Guide

I have a confession to make: I haven't bought 'normal' jeans in years. I've picked up pairs upon pairs of brights and pastels in practically every colour and printed skinnies, too, but standard issue jeans? Nope. Not since I splurged on a pair of Sevens almost 7 years ago. Blame it on my job (the occupational hazard of always wanting the newest, latest trend) and having a few kids along the way, but I guess I've somehow forgotten my roots - or at least the roots of every girl's wardrobe. 

So, I finally pulled out my old jeans that have been hiding away in my closet and since I'm too embarassed to show you a pic, let me break it down for you. Super low rise, old-school bootcut from the front and from the back? OMG, enormous. It's like the pockets forgot they were pockets and had instead morphed into massive magnifying glasses for my bum. I'm going to blame that all on the jeans. The rearview offenders were promptly tossed into a giveaway bag (ha! that'll show 'em), leaving room for a few new pairs to take their place.
