Jane Fonda Spotted in Harper's Bazaar

Jane Fonda in a polka-dot dress by Stella McCartney - photo courtesy Harper's Bazaar

This is what Jane Fonda looks like at 73.  Wow.  This, after Helen Mirren was just named 'Body of the Year'.  Suddenly I feel very young and very out of shape.  Think Jane still does her own workout videos?

A Loafer, Not a Fighter

Eppihimer Loafer Wedge, ALDO, $120 - available in stores mid-August

What makes a shoe a work of art?  As with so many things in life, a remarkable shoe comes down to the whole being greater than the sum of its parts.  The must-have mustard shade (so on-trend for this fall), the stacked wedge heel (ditto) and the loafer detailing (double ditto) make this genius shoe from ALDO an absolute must-buy.  Be diligent about getting it as soon as it hits stores, though - I can pretty much guarantee your size won't be there for long, especially since Refinery 29 pegged it as one of this fall's top footwear finds alongside a number of high-priced designer shoes.  If I can get my eager little paws on these beauties, I'll wear them with skirts, dresses and skinnies all fall/winter long.  Ooohh - anyone else feeling butterflies?

J. Crew in Canada - Yay or Meh?

J. Crew comes to Canada Yorkdale Mall Toronto.

J. Crew comes to Canada Yorkdale Mall Toronto.

In less than a month, J. Crew will be opening its first Canadian doors at Yorkdale Mall in Toronto.  Behind the faux store front, workers are scrambling to ready the racks, perfect the lighting and bring in the well-loved merch that has made the American chain such a hit.  And while I'm undeniably excited about the new store's proximity, I'm feeling mixed emotions about a brand that used to be so hard to get.   Like the bad boy in school who suddenly dumped his hot girlfriend, I'm a little disappointed that J. Crew is now so, well, available.  Meh.  And while I will always adore J.Crew for its well-interpreted classics and prepster-chic 'tude, I have two concerns:  1)  Will the prices reflect the loonie's greenback domination?  2)  How will I ever make enough money to shop at Topshop, J. Crew and Intermix this fall?  Toronto is turning into Temptation Island, n'est-ce pas?

What do you think?  Is anyone else feeling the anti-climax or are you totally stoked that J.Crew is almost open?

Hope you all have a perfect looong weekend.  xoxo

Found: Sheer Perfection

H&M Canada - Vera Wang-y Dresses

These Vera Wang-y dresses from H&M are nothing short of genius with their soft pleats, sheer tops and perfectly affordable price-point.  Wear a tonal tank underneath (we don't want to give too much away, now do we?) or, for a fierce fashion statement, imagine a black tank under the off-white version or a bright red tank under the navy.  I'll wear this dress now with pumps or wedges and later with a pair of black or red booties.  Swoon! These must-must-have dresses ($69.95 each) are in stores now at select H&M stores nationwide.  Just don't snap them all up before 2 pm, pretty please.  Oh sweet dress, I'm on my way!
