See the New TOMS x Jonathan Adler Collection

Thought I'd pass along a little taste of spring today, given that we could all probably use it right about now. The happy news? TOMS has teamed up with design guru Jonathan Adler for a decidedly cheery shoe and eyewear collection for Spring '14. Yay!

The collection fuses Adler’s signature graphics and pops of color with some of the newest TOMS silhouettes for both shoes and shades. As always, with every pair of shoes purchased, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need and with every pair of eyewear purchased, TOMS will help restore sight to someone in need.

In Canada, the TOMS x Jonathan Adler shoe collection will be available in five women’s classic styles ($59) and the unisex eyewear collection will be available in two different silhouettes - the Lobamba ($190) and the Marco ($180).

Mark those calendars - the limited edition collaboration collections will be available at TOMS.ca starting Tuesday, February 25. So fun, right? Hmmm...I think I might need those wayfarers and the navy flats. And a yacht. I'll need a yacht, too.

3 Ways to Wear Leather Now + Win a $150 Danier Shopping Spree

A pretty pic from the Danier Fall/Winter Campaign. Photo courtesy Danier.

I remember thinking that people who wore leather jackets were dangerous. I was maybe 4 or 5 years old, standing at the grocery store beside my mom, and there was a dude in front of us wearing a black leather jacket. Never has anyone been stared down so intensely by a toddler. I wanted him to know that I had my eye on him, that if he decided to hold up the cashier or maybe steal a pack of gum, that I would totally be watching.

Funny how now, I'm a total good girl gone bad - well, fashion-wise at least. So much of my life is so safe, so routiney, so predictable, that a great leather bomber, skirt or panelled leggings instantly make me feel a little dangerous (in a very good, rockstar-y kinda way).

Love leather but not quite sure how to pull it off? I've put together 3 super chic looks to help you rock leather in 2014.  Get inspired below, and be sure to enter to win a $150 Shopping Spree at Danier! How amazing would that be?!

XOXO

I'm not sure about you, but this winter has left me feeling more frozen than frisky. Blame it on all the flannel, or the fact that I can never seem to feel my toes, but this cold snap has temporarily extinguished my flames. My husband is going to have to wait. Right now, I'm too busy chugging Twinings (no 50 Shades reference here, I promise you) and knitting myself a full body onesie to even contemplate romance.

And yet, I can see the red light at the end of this wind tunnel. Maybe it's the promise of a single digit forecast, or the fact that Valentine's is just a few weeks away, but I can already feel myself melting. And if I've learned anything from watching Frozen 26 times with my daughter (what can I tell you, we've had a LOT of snow days), it's that a little love can thaw even the iciest of hearts.

Ready to heat things up, too? I've rounded up my favourite gifts to show your love this Valentine's, sure to make her (or him) a puddle at your slippered feet...

It's Going Down: HBC to Open First Full-Line Saks on Queen St.

Photos via Saks Fifth Avenue

According to Reuters this morning, Hudson's Bay Co. just announced its plan to open a full-line Saks store at the Hudson's Bay flagship store on Queen St., a shift from the earlier reported plan to open its first Saks at Yonge & Bloor.

HBC, which completed its $2.4 billion purchase of U.S. luxury chain Saks Inc late last year, said the approximately 150,000 square-foot, multi-level Saks will likely open in the fall of 2015 and will be co-located with the current Hudson's Bay store.

The report states that Hudson's Bay will also sell its downtown Toronto flagship retail complex and the Simpson's Tower located at 401 Bay Street to an affiliate of the Cadillac Fairview Corp for $650 million. As part of this deal, Saks has also agreed to lease space at Sherway Gardens for another full-line Saks store.

So? How do you see this whole luxury department store showdown panning out? Will Holts survive it all? Will our iconic HBC and all the Canadian history it represents survive, for that matter? And is Ke$ha's 'Timber' really as prophetic as I imagine?
