LABEL LOVE | FRAANKLIN

The Souvenir Toronto girls show off their FRAANKLIN scarves. Via FRAANKLIN on Instagram

Have you heard of FRAANKLIN yet? My stylish cousin just introduced me to the Toronto brand and I have to share the label love with you. FRAANKLIN scarves are total stunners. The team works with its designers in Germany and NY, then sources the finest materials from around the world - New Zealand wool, German blends and Inner Mongolian Cashmere. Scarves are then produced in-house under strict socially responsible standards.

Aside from that, here's all you really need to know - no matter what material you choose (yes, even the acrylic ones), FRAANKLIN scarves are so cozy, so generous, so luxurious-feeling, they will ruin you for every other. I wore mine all week and have never enjoyed the winter weather quite so much. Whether you're gifting or simply want to treat yo-self, here are some of my top picks rocked beautifully by those in-the-know (I'm especially smitten with the reversible line - I'm convinced every cool girl needs at least one).

Happy, happy Fri!

See the Joe Fresh Summer '15 Lookbook

Pics via Joe Fresh

I'll do anything to avoid the cold right now - and if that means jumping on a plane and heading someplace steamy, I'm willing to do it. However, since 'willing' and 'able' are unlikely to coincide this month, I've settled on vacationing vicariously through other people's hateful Instagram feeds. It's just mean, isn't it? I've found that browsing the spring/summer collections also helps. The Joe Fresh Summer '15 Lookbook just dropped if you're looking for ways to escape, too. It's a bit of a slow burn, this one - but I've found a little black jumpsuit (see above), some sporty mesh and some head-to-toe whites that will def be making their way into my wardrobe once the snow melts. Enjoy!

The Lovely Joe Fresh Holiday Lookbook

Photos via Joe Fresh

The Joe Fresh Holiday Lookbook arrived in my inbox recently and since I've finally accepted the cold weather, I think it's only right to share it with you. In a word: dreamy. The styling is perfect - the Nordic knits, the chunky scarves, the faux fur trims, and even the socks worn with heels. Don't knock it 'til you've tried it. And because it's all Joe Fresh, it's affordable and wearable, so this fashion dream can actually come true for you (and you and you and you). The holiday collection drops in stores throughout November and December.

Speaking of Joe, I'll be heading to Toronto next week for Spring '15 World MasterCard Fashion Week so be sure to follow me all next week on this blog (and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) for my pretty people pics from the street, the studio and the big shows at David Pecaut Square.

Until then, happy weekend! Isn't it always?

FRIDAY FIND: Plaid Perfection

Plaid Mix Shirt and Patch Boyfriend Jean, both Joe Fresh

As a Joe Fresh Blogger Ambassador, I am occasionally the lucky recipient of special deliveries from Joe Fresh HQ. Today's sweet surprise? A super fun plaid shirt and perfect patch boyfriend jeans, both of which I will live in this fall. The shirt is soft and comfy and not remotely ordinary thanks to its two-toned plaid, and the patchwork bf jeans are the epitome of weekend cool.

Head to your closest Joe Fresh or online now to pick up these two totally perfect fall pieces.

Happy Friday! T to the G to the I to the F. Phew...

Le Château Hits the Big Screen

Photos by Le Château

Originally posted in The CLOSET

It's not often that one can shop a film wardrobe without serious consequences to one's budget. I've tried - would not recommend it. But there's something about the magic of a movie that makes us want to get right into character, particularly when princesses, party dresses and killer heels are involved.

When I heard that Canada's own Le Château had created the exclusive wardrobe collection for After the Ball, the upcoming fashion fairytale flick starring Chris Noth, Lauren Holly and Portia Doubleday, I was stoked. And once the gorgeous lookbook pics were finally released, it was proof that when you give your designers some creative license, magic happens.

From cool cobalt blue, reminiscent of evil stepmoms and scheming stepsisters, to soft berries, pretty pinks and boy-meets-girl pieces perfect for any modern Cinderella, the entire collection is full of refreshingly affordable lust-haves that will undoubtedly impress any Le Château skeptic. A pink coat with gold buttons, a work-perfect windowpane check dress and a houndstooth bow-tie blouse layered up with a plaid mini and edgy blue chain-strap booties are at the top of my list, while any future royal ball invites will beg for some of the dreamy dresses in this collection.

Let's face it: After the Ball might totally suck (see the synopsis here), but if only for the flick's stellar wardrobe, I'm already head-over-glass-heels in love.

The After the Ball collection has already started to arrive in stores, with the bulk of the pieces hitting early October. Sigh...our fashion dreams have finally come true...
