See the Joe Fresh x FLARE Collection

I haven't posted about a collab in awhile but just had to share this latest Canadian team-up with you. The fashion editors of FLARE have partnered up with Joe Fresh for a Fall '15 capsule collection and I'm loving the results. The exclusive line embodies the season’s most essential style notes to bring your wardrobe right up-to-date for the season. And since it's Joe Fresh - you guessed it - the prices are irresistible. 

The Joe Fresh x FLARE collection includes a pleated Lurex skirt, a classic tweed coat, 70’s-tinged flare jeans, a multi-checked print dress, a cozy funnel neck sweater and an extra-long, chunky cardigan. Everything in the lineup is priced from $29 to $99 (CAD) so I certainly plan on picking up a piece, or two, or three. 

“Why are we so excited about our collaboration with Joe Fresh? Because we sincerely believe that each item in the six-piece line, from the tweed car coat and shimmery pleated skirt to the high-waisted flared jeans and cable-knit cardi, is an instant wardrobe upgrader. Oh, and the fact that you can have everything [in the entire collection] for less than $300? It’s a fall fashion miracle,” write the editors of FLARE in their September issue.

The Joe Fresh x FLARE collection will be available September 10 in stores and online and the FLARE September issue is on newsstands now, featuring Karlie Kloss killing it in Joe Fresh on the cover. Think she'll be able to get Taylor Swift to wear Joe Fresh for fall? I can totes picture Taylor in that funnel sweater, can't you?

Joe Mimran Leaves Joe Fresh, Joins CBC's Dragons' Den

When it was announced a few days ago that Joe Mimran was leaving Joe Fresh - his namesake, his fashion baby - the Canadian fashion community reeled. It seemed like an odd decision to leave a successful company at the top of its game, right in the midst of its global takeover. So what was it? Was there someone else? Was he tired of people thinking his last name was 'Fresh'? Was he simply over the colour orange? I couldn't imagine why he'd leave Joe Fresh unless tempted by an even better opportunity. Turns out I was right. 

Joe Mimran will be joining CBC's Dragons' Den as the hit show's newest judge. The 62 year-old fashion vet is a natural choice, having built some of Canada's most successful fashion brands including Alfred Sung, Caban, Club Monaco, and most recently, Joe Fresh.  Though Joe leaves his day-to-day duties behind, he will remain the founder and brand ambassador of Joe Fresh. 

Season 10 of Dragons' Den starts shooting next month and will air Wednesday nights at 8 pm on CBC. As an avid DD junkie, I cannot wait to see Mr. Mim in action. One thing I can guarantee? There will be loafers. Oh yes, there will be loafers.

I'll do anything to avoid the cold right now - and if that means jumping on a plane and heading someplace steamy, I'm willing to do it. However, since 'willing' and 'able' are unlikely to coincide this month, I've settled on vacationing vicariously through other people's hateful Instagram feeds. It's just mean, isn't it? I've found that browsing the spring/summer collections also helps. The Joe Fresh Summer '15 Lookbook just dropped if you're looking for ways to escape, too. It's a bit of a slow burn, this one - but I've found a little black jumpsuit (see above), some sporty mesh and some head-to-toe whites that will def be making their way into my wardrobe once the snow melts. The Lovely Joe Fresh Holiday Lookbook

The Joe Fresh Holiday Lookbook arrived in my inbox recently and since I've finally accepted the cold weather, I think it's only right to share it with you. In a word: dreamy. The styling is perfect - the Nordic knits, the chunky scarves, the faux fur trims, and even the socks worn with heels. Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.
