Oh-So Cinco de Mayo

Handmade Embroidery Blouse, $59.95, Mango

Necklace with Tassels, $19.95, H&M

1969 Cuffed Always Skinny Jeans, $49.99, GAP

Deborah Lippmann Summer Nail Polish in Don't Stop Believin', $22, Sephora

Printed Espadrille Slip-Ons, $44.95, GAP

Well, Spring, you're fashionably late, I'll give you that. And while I can relate, especially on this particular Monday, it's inevitable that deadlines must be met - fashion stories in my case, blooming flowers in yours - and we will get back on track.

Since it's Cinco de Mayo, let's make today the day to get this spring party started. These bright celebratory pieces are just the thing to heat things up.  Try taking a canvas of all white, then add in splashes of fiesta-friendly brights in the form of orange polish or lipstick, a super fun tasseled necklace, and striped espadrilles. So fun, si?

My job is done. Spring? Looks like you're up...

Kate Moss x Topshop is Finally Here

Photos courtesy Topshop

The long-awaited Kate Moss x Topshop collection has finally arrived and I want everything. Like the supermodel herself, the collection is edgy, eclectic and incomparably cool. From the rocker (see the floral metallic blouse, star camis and a fringed black dress), to the boho babe (embroidered smock dresses and pyjama trousers) to the innocent ingénue, (bright chiffon dresses), the line covers Moss's many sides. And for someone like me who dresses to suit my daily mood, the collection feels deeply (albeit most superficially) satisfying. Pick up the collection now online and at select Hudson's Bay stores across Canada.

Kate made an appearance at Topshop’s Oxford Circus store this week before hosting a star-studded dinner to celebrate the launch, attended by Cara Delevigne, Sienna Miller, Suki Waterhouse and Naomi Campbell.  See the photos – and what everyone wore – below:

MOM LOVE: A Gift Guide

Model mom, Natalia Vodianova, in a sweet editorial for Vogue. Photo: Vogue.

Originally posted in The CLOSET

When I had my first baby, it took me a some time before I felt like a mom. I mean, I definitely felt like a mother when instead of being at a club at 1 am, I paced the floors with an inconsolable newborn. And I certainly felt the full depths of motherhood when on a grocery run for diapers, I realize I already had one stuck to my leg. While those first months of momdom are as unselfish as they come, I still just wasn't on board with the whole 'all you need is love' mentality, gift-wise. Don't get me wrong; there is nothing more amazing than the love of your children, from the smiles and giggles to those rare quiet moments when your beautiful baby is sleeping. But at first, I didn't understand how my mom could have been so genuinely thrilled when we'd give her scraps of scribbled-on paper for her birthday. Now my kids are 3 and 5 and I have to admit, nothing gets me more excited than when my kids come home from school with a homemade card that they've thought up just for me. The tears flow, I get all snivelly (just like I thought I never would) and I cannot possibly imagine a more perfect gift.

Except for those times when you've had months of sub-par sleep, zero breaks from the toddler tyrants who take, take, take ALL. THE. TIME. and then, despite all that glorious love you feel for your little ones, then you want stuff. Like, pretty, impractical, no-kids-allowed stuff that make you feel more like a woman than a mom. Ahem. Just me?

Reality Check: Spring's Most Wearable Trends

Originally posted in The Fashion Scoop

Designers send so many 'must-have' trends down the runways that it can be pretty tough to keep up. And sometimes, if we're honest, we don't really want to keep up. While some look amazing in the glossy pages of Vogue, or on Cara Delevingne's stick-thin bod, not all trends work for every day. We've rounded up 12 spring trends we love because they're a) beautiful and b) actually wearable, which will help us look chic and feel amazing as this new season gets underway. Excited? Us, too...

Alexander Wang Arrives at H&M this Fall

Alexander Wang photographed by Steven Klein. Photo courtesy H&M.

Fashionphiles did a few extra fist pumps at Coachella this weekend with the announcement of H&M`s next big designer collab. You`ve heard of Alexander Wang, I`m sure - fashion wunderkind, Parsons grad, Creative Director of Balenciaga, creator of the celeb fav Rocco duffel, etc. etc.

Since 2007, the New York-based designer`s eponymous brand has established itself as cool, current and quintessentially urban, thanks to its easy tailoring and mostly all-black palette. Since Wang has both a men and women`s line, the Alexander Wang for H&M collection will follow suit with apparel and accessories for both men and women.

Alexander Wang says, “I am honoured to be a part of H&M’s designer collaborations. The work with their team is an exciting, fun process. They are very open to push boundaries and to set a platform for creativity. This will be a great way for a wider audience to experience elements of the Alexander Wang brand and lifestyle.” Read: ``You penny-pinching mofos will finally be able to afford my overpriced shit.`` Pardon my street.

The full collection will be available in 250 H&M stores worldwide starting November 6th, 2014. Ex-ci-ting! And also frus-tra-ting. November is SO far away!
