Holiday. Celebrate.

A gorgeous editorial featuring the Chanel Spring '14 collection. Photo credit: Jamie Beck & Kevin Burg via one of my fav new photography blogs, Ann Street Studio.

I can't even tell you what kind of a week I've had but let's just say, I am READY for a vacay. Luckily, we leave tomorrow morning for my oldest, dearest friend's wedding in Cuba. #yes

Thanks for your putting up with my paltry posts lately and for sticking with me and my little fashion blog through it all. I love what I do and I could not do any of it without all of your love and support so thank you, thank you, thank you.

See you in a week! Now is it 'mojito, por favor' or 'dos mojitos, por favor?' I think a vacation always calls for dos, don't you?

3 Chic Ways to Wear Florals

Photo courtesy American Eagle. Originally posted in The LOOK

I don't consider myself a very 'flowery' kind of girl. Floral perfumes make me sneeze and daisy printed dresses remind me of bad 90's fashion choices I'd rather forget (insert shudder here).

But as with so many things in life, there are always exceptions to the rule. And when done right, florals don't have to look sickeningly sweet at all. Floral are actually super chic when worn the right way and the pretty flowery finds in stores now have definitely inspired me to add some buds to my spring wardrobe...

See the Peter Pilotto for Target Lookbook

Photos courtesy Target

Massive apologies for being MIA these past few days. I was in TO shooting my latest round of TV segments for the iVillage Minute and then spent yesterday at the Shangri-La for my sister's 40th. A morning at the Miraj Hammam Spa plus lunch at Bosk can transform you from highly stressed to incredibly chilled out and baby soft in a matter of two hours. Worth every single penny.

Digression aside, I'm back at it and had to share these new pics from the Peter Pilotto for Target collection. Peter who? Doesn't really matter (fashion designer, good enough to be picked up for a Target collab). I went to the Target Spring Preview last week to see the pieces in person and they are even prettier in real life - silky soft fabrics and super vibrant summer colours perfect for surfer girls and wannabes alike.

I am dying over the dresses, the long-sleeved stretchy shirts and the clutches, and luckily at $14.99 to $79.99 for apparel and $16.99 to $39.99 for accessories, it looks as though I might actually be able to pick up the things on my wishlist without destroying our family budget. That is, IF (and it's a big IF) everything doesn't get scooped up before I get in the door. There is one massive benefit to living outside of the city: namely, not having to fight OOC throngs of other ravenous fashionphiles when new designer collections arrive at Target. This should be a consideration in quality of life studies and real estate reports, non?

Mark your calendars! The Peter Pilotto for Target Collection launches in Target stores nationwide and at Net-a-porter.com on February 9th. Cannot wait!

xx

14 Resolutions Worth Keeping in 2014

Originally posted in The LOOK

At -21 degrees (windchill notwithstanding), 2014 is off to a very chilly start. While you huddle up indoors, away from the deadly polar vortex swirling around outside, I think now's a pretty good time to take stock of the year ahead. If you're like me, my grand New Year's resolutions never really pan out the way I plan. All good intentions for eating like Gwyneth Paltrow and working out like a ninja usually fall by the wayside sometime around next week and by then, I'll likely already be back to my 2013 ways.

So this year, I resolve to make more realistic goals - small little things that will make a positive impact on my day-to-day, from wearing cooler jeans to updating my playlist. If you're looking to refresh, recharge and renew, too, read on for the 14 New Year's resolutions that might actually be worth keeping this year...

An eBay Canada Twitter Giveaway: Outfit 2

It's the Monday before Christmas and all through my house, well, it's chaos. And so, please forgive the unwordiness of this post. And similarly, please forgive the use of words that don't exist (see: unwordiness). And instead, focus solely on this gorgeous look from eBay.ca. If you entered last week's contest, you probably know what's coming. eBay.ca has given me this beautiful look including a stunning brand new wool moto jacket from Guess (photo does not do it justice) and a long and lovely floral maxi (both size XS) to go with. (I featured both on The Morning Show).

Here's how to win this look:

1) Follow @eBayCanada and @realliferunway on Twitter.

2) Tweet the following ' &  are giving away a perfect wool moto jacket. Details here: . RT to !'

3) Contest closes this Friday, Dec 27th at 5 pm.

Bonne chance and check back for outfit #3 later this week. If I don't talk to you in the next few days (unlikely since I'll be busy stuffing my stockings and my face), happy, happy holidays and Christmas to you! Hope it's the merriest yet.
