Kate Moss x Topshop is Finally Here

Photos courtesy Topshop

The long-awaited Kate Moss x Topshop collection has finally arrived and I want everything. Like the supermodel herself, the collection is edgy, eclectic and incomparably cool. From the rocker (see the floral metallic blouse, star camis and a fringed black dress), to the boho babe (embroidered smock dresses and pyjama trousers) to the innocent ingénue, (bright chiffon dresses), the line covers Moss's many sides. And for someone like me who dresses to suit my daily mood, the collection feels deeply (albeit most superficially) satisfying. Pick up the collection now online and at select Hudson's Bay stores across Canada.

Kate made an appearance at Topshop’s Oxford Circus store this week before hosting a star-studded dinner to celebrate the launch, attended by Cara Delevigne, Sienna Miller, Suki Waterhouse and Naomi Campbell.  See the photos – and what everyone wore – below:

3 Chic Ways to Wear Florals

Photo courtesy American Eagle. Originally posted in The LOOK

I don't consider myself a very 'flowery' kind of girl. Floral perfumes make me sneeze and daisy printed dresses remind me of bad 90's fashion choices I'd rather forget (insert shudder here).

But as with so many things in life, there are always exceptions to the rule. And when done right, florals don't have to look sickeningly sweet at all. Floral are actually super chic when worn the right way and the pretty flowery finds in stores now have definitely inspired me to add some buds to my spring wardrobe...

Metallica

From top: Espadrille Sandals, $54.95, GAP; Gold Flatform, $60, ALDO; Silver Wedges, $70, ALDO

Worst. Cold. Ever. Is it just me or are colds getting worse? I'm talking 4 straight days of sinus torture with no relief. My mom has had a cold for 6 weeks. Is this the new normal? I try to keep things happy on this blog so let's talk shoes instead, shall we? Looking at these metallic sandals reminds me that sunnier days aren't far away and that pretty soon, the clouds will blow away, the haze that's taken up residence inside my head will move out, and we'll be strolling around in sandals once more.

Sometimes a little shoe shopping is all you need. That, and Tylenol Cold. Yup, you need that, too.

See the New TOMS x Jonathan Adler Collection

Thought I'd pass along a little taste of spring today, given that we could all probably use it right about now. The happy news? TOMS has teamed up with design guru Jonathan Adler for a decidedly cheery shoe and eyewear collection for Spring '14. Yay!

The collection fuses Adler’s signature graphics and pops of color with some of the newest TOMS silhouettes for both shoes and shades. As always, with every pair of shoes purchased, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need and with every pair of eyewear purchased, TOMS will help restore sight to someone in need.

In Canada, the TOMS x Jonathan Adler shoe collection will be available in five women’s classic styles ($59) and the unisex eyewear collection will be available in two different silhouettes - the Lobamba ($190) and the Marco ($180).

Mark those calendars - the limited edition collaboration collections will be available at TOMS.ca starting Tuesday, February 25. So fun, right? Hmmm...I think I might need those wayfarers and the navy flats. And a yacht. I'll need a yacht, too.

See the Peter Pilotto for Target Lookbook

Photos courtesy Target

Massive apologies for being MIA these past few days. I was in TO shooting my latest round of TV segments for the iVillage Minute and then spent yesterday at the Shangri-La for my sister's 40th. A morning at the Miraj Hammam Spa plus lunch at Bosk can transform you from highly stressed to incredibly chilled out and baby soft in a matter of two hours. Worth every single penny.

Digression aside, I'm back at it and had to share these new pics from the Peter Pilotto for Target collection. Peter who? Doesn't really matter (fashion designer, good enough to be picked up for a Target collab). I went to the Target Spring Preview last week to see the pieces in person and they are even prettier in real life - silky soft fabrics and super vibrant summer colours perfect for surfer girls and wannabes alike.

I am dying over the dresses, the long-sleeved stretchy shirts and the clutches, and luckily at $14.99 to $79.99 for apparel and $16.99 to $39.99 for accessories, it looks as though I might actually be able to pick up the things on my wishlist without destroying our family budget. That is, IF (and it's a big IF) everything doesn't get scooped up before I get in the door. There is one massive benefit to living outside of the city: namely, not having to fight OOC throngs of other ravenous fashionphiles when new designer collections arrive at Target. This should be a consideration in quality of life studies and real estate reports, non?

Mark your calendars! The Peter Pilotto for Target Collection launches in Target stores nationwide and at Net-a-porter.com on February 9th. Cannot wait!
