My favourite thing to do in the middle of a deep freeze is avoid it. No, really, I stay as far away as possible from any natural air, sprint to the closest heated car or building whenever I have to be outside, and generally make any excuse I can to not have to go out at all. My dog and I go on winter runs, not walks, so he and I get exercise but limit the potential for frostbite. And when skiing, you can literally only see the tip of my nose. I look ridiculous but my Hot Hands-warmed thumbs are giving the thumbs up inside my oven mitt-sized mittens. 

While avoiding the cold, I spend my time dreaming. Dreaming of warm places, dreaming that a plane ticket will find its way into my cold hands, and dreaming of spring fashion. The spring runways were loaded with temptations that I can't wait to wear. And since 2015 is officially here, I see no reason why we can't start wearing some of spring's pretty pieces right now.

The Vogue Festival 2013: Meet Victoria Beckham and NET-A-PORTER's Natalie Massenet

The Vogue Festival 2013 just wrapped up in London and I've been given access to all of the style sessions from the prestigious event held last week. Lucky me - I feel like I'm back in University except instead of being scruffy and disheveled, the profs are wearing Céline!  If you love fashion (which I'm assuming you do, since you're here) and have a lunchbreak or evening free this week, check out a few of the fantastic sessions from the event including NET-A-PORTER's stylish and inspiring founder, Natalie Massenet, plus a glimpse at the surprisingly charming Victoria Beckham. Hi, my name is Sarah, and I'm an addict;  I'm a workaholic, shoeaholic and a closet Bachelor-aholic (speaking of working out, have you seen Sean? Seriously, does dude do anything other than bicep curls and bachelorettes?) Since becoming a mom, I'm always busy, always chasing my little tornadoes, but my heart isn't seeing a whole lot of cardiac action. And so, like so many of you, I've made a resolution;  It might not be 30 lbs or a marathon or a whole new me but I've resolved to just move more. So long, farewell, old burgundy.  I tried (really I did) but if I'm honest, we've had our fun and now I'm ready for a change.  Luckily, Pantone has declared pretty Emerald as the colour to covet in 2013.  They say it’s not easy being green, but wearing green? That’s a whole other story. The rich hue, said to promote balance and harmony will help you feel enlivened, elegant and positively renewed. Can’t think of a better way to kick off the new year!  Check out my top 10 emerald finds at iVillage.ca this week, guaranteed to make people (pun intended) green with envy. Soooo glad I decided to wear emerald for my headshot. Now if only I could take back that Puerto Rican haircut... (I'm still not over it)

Fashion's Night Out

Vogue, the CFDA, the City of New York, and NYC & Company have teamed up again for the world's biggest shopping night, Fashion's Night Out (FNO) on September 6th!  Celebrate the hautest shopping night in style with this just-released FNO Collection at eLUXE, comprised of chic totes and tees. (40% of the proceeds raised from the sale of this collection will benefit the New York City AIDS Fund.)
